Lakeland Confectionary Supply opened its doors in 1975. The original owners, Bill and Mary Kircher, applied their experience as scoop shop owners to the creation of a distribution company which focuses on the needs of small high end ice cream shop owners. Working closely with their loyal customer base and dedicated manufacturers, the Kircher's grew their Butler, New Jersey based company into one of the leading suppliers of ice cream ingredients. Lakeland now has hundreds of customers located in New Jersey and most of the other 49 states. Many products are shipped UPS throughout the country. Top selling products include dairy mixes, chocolates, sprinkles, containers, flavorings, variegates, toppings, and cones.
In 2000 the Kircher's partnered with Ciao Bella Gelato Company to help grow their business. At the time Ciao Bella was a long time customer and familiar with Lakeland's philosophy of product excellence and customer satisfaction. Both companies were in agreement regarding a practice of only serving customers the very best products with the highest caliber service. Ciao Bella's distribution and warehousing expertise and Lakeland's high quality product selection and outstanding customer service have enabled the merged company to grow the product line and extend direct delivery to more locations on the East Coast.
Lakeland Confectionary Supply, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ciao Bella, is able to offer customers the premium ice cream ingredients which are the hallmark of its ongoing business since 1975, or the addition of finished ice cream products, such as gelato and sorbet, which are produced by Ciao Bella Gelato Company.
